"Three of the things I have heard most about during my time as a Councillor and now as Mayor have centred around road safety - slowing traffic down in our neighbourhoods, focusing on people ahead of cars through a complete streets strategy and investments in cycling and trail infrastructure. I am committed to seeing the City of Kitchener make progress in these areas important to you."
As I hear from residents throughout the city, pedestrian, cyclist and driver safety is a primary concern throughout our community. We need to increase our focus on ensuring residents of all ages can travel throughout our neighbourhoods more safely – whether by foot, bicycle, transit, or car.

- Work with the Region of Waterloo to plan and build a minimum grid of protected bike lanes.
- Investigate reducing speed limits on our neighbourhood streets.
- Lobby the province to allow cameras to catch people speeding on regional roads in school zones.
- Improve sidewalk snow clearing, including at regional transit stops.
- Improve pedestrian connections to LRT and bus stops.
